English Translation

In

In the karahod of my thoughts

I see you, my slender one,

Spin faster, faster

In the red-blue whirlpool!

Where are you?

Only spirals flicker

of red-blue serpents...

My thought of you is red,

and you are a blue one,

hiding from sorrow,

hiding from death.

My blue one, my blue one

hide from my sorrow

your boyish joy,

wrap my sorrow

in spirals in the whirlpool

of red-blue rivers

hiding from death.

Spinning faster, faster.

The word English cannot carry

In the karahod of my thoughts

karahod

A communal ring-dance (from the Slavic khorovod). English has no single word for it, so the translator keeps the borrowing; it means being swept into a turning, collective motion rather than dancing alone.
